Pella Replacement Windows & Materials

Pine is the standard species for Pella wood windows; with the option of mahogany, Douglas fir, and alder. Aluminum cladding using Pella's low-maintenance EnduraClad or EnduraClad Plus system is standard; wood exteriors are also available.

Pella's wood windows offer the superior thermal efficiency and warmth of wood with the protection of its low-maintenance EnduraGuard finish. EnduraGuard ensures scientifically advanced protection that is four times stronger than competitors' defenses against mold, moisture, mildew, and termites.

Pella's Impervia line of fiberglass composite windows are strong, low maintenance, and extremely energy efficient. Made from a special material called Duracast, Pella's low-maintenance fiberglass composite windows are the strongest windows available per industry testing standards. They are specifically designed to endure temperature extremes and resist impact, denting, and scratching.

Pella also manufactures energy-efficient premium vinyl windows as a cost-conscious alternative solution. Low maintenance coupled with high performance make Pella premium vinyl windows a terrific value for any homeowner.

Pella Window & Energy Performance

Pella's commitment to energy efficiency is seen in its NFRC certifications and Energy Star labels. In fact, most Pella windows with low-E insulating glass not only meet regional Energy Star requirements, but also meet or exceed the guidelines for all 50 states! A range of glass options, from triple pane to insulating or laminated glass, or even blinds between the panes, can help homeowners to determine the most appropriate Pella solution for their climate, facing direction, or even noise-reduction goals.

Through its assortment of glass and grill options, window types (including special shapes), frame materials, and five distinct product lines, Pella offers an enormous variety of windows to meet every budget, style, climate, and performance requirement, and fulfill each individual customer preference.

Product Lines

Pella produces outstanding windows in five product families which are sure to satisfy the needs of every homeowner.

Three Pella brands promise the warm, rich look and thermal performance of wood armored in Pella's EnduraClad aluminum cladding: the Architect Series, Designer Series, and ProLine. Some of the many features available in these product lines include four wood species and a variety of grille and screen options. Pella also offers a broad range of exterior color choices on its Architect and Designer Series, with a palette of three standard and seven select shades, and unlimited custom color selections.

The Architect Series of wood windows and doors are high-end and highly customizable, crafted to exact specifications. This family of windows can be made-to-order in any shape, size, or style imaginable, or manufactured to be historically accurate. Handcrafted hardware and furniture detailing help to create an elegant, intimate personal statement, but they are also incredibly rugged: The HurricaneShield glass on these windows are designed to be impact resistant, and can handle a 2x4 at 50 feet-per-second.

The Designer Series is intended to allow homeowners to flex their creative muscle, simply, quickly, and easily. These wood windows and doors feature unique between-the-glass systems that promote design versatility and also offer the sound reduction and energy efficiency of triple pane glass. Snap-in shades, blinds, grilles, and decorative glass panels enable customers to make quick-and-easy changes to match moods, makeovers, and seasons.

Pella's ProLine offers the beauty and performance of wood with the simplicity and cost-effectiveness of standard sizes and factory assembly. Basic Done Beautifully is Pella's description of this high-performing workhorse, which offers such cost-saving features as pre-finished white or primed interiors and a selection of eight common exterior cladding colors.

Impervia is Pella's fiberglass composite line of windows. Constructed from Duracast, these fiberglass composite windows are an excellent value for homeowners seeking a strong performer at an affordable price. Duracast fiberglass composite is nine times stronger than vinyl, and is the strongest and most durable window material available today. Unlike vinyl, Impervia windows won't react to temperature extremes. They are easy to clean, come in a variety of window frame types for simpler installation, and are available pre-finished in white, tan, and brown.

Pella also produces vinyl windows, designed to provide homeowners with an inexpensive yet stylish solution to energy efficiency. Available at various retail locations as Centera, Encompass, and ThermaStar, Pella's vinyl windows are available in a broad range of standard sizes, but can also be custom manufactured in 1/8" increments. These low-maintenance frames come in white and almond, and will never have to be repainted. Nailing fin and block frames are just a few of the many frame types that ensure rapid installation. Fully sealed between-the-glass blinds and grilles are also optional on these windows.

About Pella

Pella started out as a small family business in 1925, and remains family-owned today. It also remains committed to the customer-focused ethics that drove the small Iowa window screen manufacturer to become the nation's leader in replacement windows.

It does this by putting its customers' interests first, and by designing, testing, producing, and installing the industry's best and most consistently efficient windows. (Pella's Designer Series, for example, with its triple pane glass, is top-rated for energy efficiency among the major national brands.)

In recognition of its commitment to consumers, Pella has earned consecutive J.D. Power and Associates honors as the ’Highest in Customer Satisfaction.’

Pella has made a habit of winning honors from consumers, peers, industry organizations, and government agencies. Pella is not only an industry leader in innovation and customer satisfaction, but also in environmental sustainability, industry standards and oversight, and business leadership:

Pella has twice been named the US government's Energy Star Partner of the Year in the windows category for reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and has earned the Iowa Governor's Excellence Award for leadership in waste management through recycling. It was also given an honorable mention by the EPA's Pollution Prevention program in 2006. Pella products also contribute more than 20 of 69 possible LEED points.

Pella is a founding member of the National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC), which has been instrumental in developing and implementing performance standards for the window manufacturing industry standards that Pella's windows consistently exceed.

FORTUNE magazine, RBL Group, and Hewitt Associates named Pella a ’Global Top Company for Leaders’ in the mid-sized category for its commitment to employee training and development. FORTUNE named Pella one of the ’100 Best Companies to Work For’ from 2000-2005 as well. Pella also supports and facilitates training activities in conjunction with the American Institute of Architects' continuing education programs.

Pella's US-built windows and doors represent the best in American window technology, a fact supported by Pella's consistent high performance ratings and its history of innovation: Pella introduced the multi-purpose window, a window that could be used as a casement or an awning, in 1950. Also in the 1950s, it pioneered the use of removable pane dividers and sash pivots for easier cleaning.

Pella creates customer interest by manufacturing top-quality, high-performance windows, but it ensures customer interest, investment, and satisfaction through its service-oriented values. Pella recognizes that giving consumers options and support, in addition to quality craftsmanship, is critical to success. To that end, Pella offers free in-home consultations, professional installation by certified Pella installers, and limited-lifetime and transferable warranties.
